Accommodation:- Deeply romantic,
Makweti Safari Lodge accommodates just 10 guests in individually
built thatch and stone suites. Amenities include indoor and outdoor
showers, Victorian bathtubs, log fires and private decks with
sweeping views of the bushveld.
Activities:- Enjoy game drives
in an open Land Rover or learn to read the signs of the bush on
walks with highly trained naturalists. Your senses will be exhilirated
by night game drives when you will search for elusive nocturnal
creatures. You set the pace. Relax by the pool, explore ancient
cave paintings or view wildlife at our waterhole.
Wildlife:- Explore 33 000 hectares
of prime game-land, in open safari vehicle or on foot, home to
lion, leopard, elephant, plains game, 16 species of antelope,
the largest population of white rhino on private land, wild dog
and the endangered brown hyena. For bird watchers the diverse
topography offers an amazing opportunity - over 300 bird species
have been recorded in the area.
Access:- The Waterberg Mountain area is part
of the Bushveld district of the Limpopo Province, a two and a
half hour drive north from Johannesburg on the N1.
