Limpopo Forest Tented Camp

Situated in the heart of the Mapungubwe National Park within the riverine forest of the Limpopo River, this tented camp offers spacious rooms and outdoor areas catering for 16 people, with eight two-bed self-catering units. It also boasts seven semi-luxury forest tents each with a two-bed bedroom, kitchen, shower and toilet. Physically disabled people are catered for with one semi-luxury forest tent with two bed-bedroom, kitchen, shower and toilet.

There is a diversity of archaeological sites that are a fascinating attraction in the park including San art sites and guided tours are offered. Situated on the western region of the Park and nestled within the verdant riverine forest of the Limpopo River, lies a cozy tented camp which offers excellent birding, with more than 400 species of birds to tick off including, kori bustard, tropical boubou and pel’s fishing owl. The Maloutswa Pan hide is on the doorstep to Limpopo Forest Tented Camp and their is easy access to a great variety of habitats, including areas of grassland and thornveld Savannah.. Elephant, giraffe, white rhino, eland, gemsbok and various other antelope species occur naturally in the neighborhood. Fortunate guests may see predators like lions, leopards and hyenas.
Home to some 60 mammals, 300 bird species, 100 plant types and numerous reptile and insect species, at Mabula, all natures' wonders are revered - from the 'Big Five' (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) to the 'small five' (ant lion, leopard tortoise, buffalo weaver, elephant shrew and rhino beetle). This is the Heartland of the Safari experience.
The Waterberg Mountain area is part of the Bushveld district of the Limpopo Province, approximately a six hour drive north from Johannesburg on the N1.
Children are welcome at Limpopo Forest Tented Camp and is the ideal holiday getaway for families.
