Jembisa is a bush home situated in it's own private game
reserve, the Palala River Reserve, named after the river that
runs through it. Jembisa offers you 3 fully equipped self-catering
lodges in a beautiful, unspoilt wild setting, with a diversity
of game including rhino, leopard, hippo and crocodile. Jembisa
is only three hours north of Johannesburg. The lodges are all
secluded, private and fully equipped.

Accommodation:- River Cottage,
is an isolated cottage set in a beautiful spot, often visited
by our resident rhino, and is right next to the Palala river.
Perfect for a couple, the cottage sleeps two people (fixed double
bed) with mosquito netting. It has a bathroom with bath and shower,
lounge with fireplace and fully kitted kitchen. Towels and firewood
are provided.
Podica Rondavels are fully equipped, en-suite thatched Rondavels
sleeping 4, 4 and 2 nestled in the riverine bush on the banks
of the Palala river. Relax in a hammock, walk, enjoy game viewing
or watching the abundant bird life and cool off under your private
bush shower. Swimming pool and braai area.
Kingfisher Cottage sleeps a maximum of 10 people in 3 twin rooms
and 2 double rooms. Ideal for small groups or families. Sit
on the veranda with wide views across the Palala river to the
far hills. The cottage has a comfortable
living area with a fireplace place and dining table. There is
also a swimming pool for your enjoyment, a braai and it is fully
serviced.
Activities:- Activities on the
farm include: game viewing on foot or from your car (4x4), safari
walks along the 7km stretch of river, hiking and mountain biking,
fabulous bird life and fishing.
Wildlife:- The 75 mammal species
include Giraffe, Zebra, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Eland,
Blesbok, Impala and Red Hartebeest. African python and the Nile
crocodile are also resident, and it is a birdwatchers’ paradise
with more than 300 bird species.
Access:- The Waterberg Mountain area is part
of the Bushveld district of the Limpopo Province, a two and a
half hour drive north from Johannesburg on the N1.
Child Policy:- Children of all ages are extremely
welcome at Jembisa. Having been a family home Jembisa is ideally
suited to families with children.
There is much for children to do at Jembisa and
activities can be tailor-made to suit them.These can include guided
bush walks, instruction on tracking and bush lore, bug walks,
slide shows and bush games. There are also children's books, games
and wildlife videos available and a free babysitting service.
Children's separate mealtimes can be arranged if you choose.
