CLEARWATER LODGE
(KUDU LODGE)

Kudu Lodge

Welgevonden Game Reserve is situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, just 3 hours drive from Johannesburg.

The concept of Welgevonden Game Reserve was the vision of Pienkes du Plessis in 1987. As owner of the original Welgevonden farm, he conceived the idea of extending the area by acquisition of neighbouring farmland, establishing a nature conservancy, and returning the land to its original state of wilderness.

Welgevonden Game Reserve is a declared Heritage Site of 33000 hectares situated in the breathtaking Waterberg Biosphere. This true wildlife environment is home to some of Africa’s most sought after animal species including one of the largest collections of white (square-lip) rhino on private land.

Apart from the Big 5, Welgevonden is also home to a wide range of game and approximately 300 different bird species. Of prime appeal is the fact that the reserve is malaria-free.

Clearwater Lodge - Kudu Lodge is set overlooking a vast open area and waterhole with endless mountain views on the horizon. The abundance of game in front of the lodge provides continual hours of game viewing from the comfort of your room’s deck.

At a Glance:

  • Accommodation - Capacity - 10 guests
  • 5 Rooms
  • Outdoor showers
  • Own private deck
  • swimming pool in main area

for a maximum of ten guests is in 5 rooms - including three double/Twin units and a family unit (with two bedrooms). All units have a separate bathroom (2 in the case of the family unit), including an outdoor shower. Guests can indulge in the beauty and tranquillity from their own personal deck outside their bedroom.

Kudu Lodge retains a unique ambience, largely due to its beautiful setting, and the inimitable hospitality and character shared by the staff.

Kudu lodge prides itself on offering wholesome, ethnic, gourmet food and fine wines which are served on the deck, in the dining room or in the rustic boma of the lodge.

The entertaining areas (lounge, bar, dining room) are surrounded by a wooden deck, where guests can relax for endless moments, or refresh in the pool.

Activities
Game drives are undertaken in comfortable landrovers, generally in the early morning and late afternoon. Walking safaris, under the personal guidance of one of the game rangers, as well as visits to the nearby bushman paintings can also be arranged. The program is however totally flexible, and is set to meet with each client’s personal requirements.

Access
Kudu Lodge is accessed through the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve Main Gate entrance, here all cars will stay at the Main Gates car park, which provides 24-hour security. The Lodge will fetch all Guests from the Main Gate and transfer them to the lodge, approximately 35 mins drive inside the park.

Rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, 3 meals daily, all snacks and drinks (except imported drinks) and all game drives.
