Accommodation:- At Bushveld Retreat the aim is to provide an authentic African bush Experience whilst also providing a few modern luxuries. The cottages guarantee privacy and comfort within the bush. All cottages have 2 separate bedrooms that can sleep 4 in total, en-suite bathroom with bath and an outdoor shower. Also a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, stove with an oven, open plan lounge and spacious braai facilities.
The Lodge Tents are a perfect combination of bush living and home comforts. There are four tents, accommodating four people in each. Each Tent is divided into two parts. The tents are spacious and have an en-suite bathroom. The fully-equipped kitchen is constructed of brick stones, with thatch roof and has a lovely view over the plains.


Activities:- At Bushveld Retreat there are a variety of activities and facilities which include the Bushwillow Pub where you can watch those important sports events on DSTV or simply escape from the heat of the day and enjoy a refreshing drink. There is a small curio shop at the reception area as well as a small putt-putt course next to the swimming pool. For the kids there is a bush Jungle-Gym, Simming Pool and Outdoor Chess which should keep them busy for hours. We offer mountain bicycles but remember that you are in the bush and the sand can be soft and difficult to navigate on a bicycle. Bushveld Retreat is situated in the beautiful Waterberg region of South Africa which is a low-risk malaria area. Bushveld Retreat has a number of bush-walks mapped out for you and it is here that you will really experience the wonder of Africa as you walk through the bush along with the antelope, zebra, wildebeest and other animals. We also offer game drives, at a fee, where you can view the animals from the back of a Land Cruiser, take photographs and see the whole retreat.

Hippo Health Hydro:- The Hydro comprises two chalets housing a jacuzzi, a sauna, a gym and physical therapy centre. The Hydro is set in peaceful bush and you will often see antelope drinking at the nearby watering hole. Work out in the Gym, take a refreshing shower and then head for the Sauna. Take a break from the heat of the sauna by taking a refreshing outdoor shower and then swim in the Hippo plunge pool.

Wildlife:- The 75 mammal species include Giraffe, Zebra, Waterbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Eland, Blesbok, Impala and Red Hartebeest. African python and the Nile crocodile are also resident, and it is a birdwatchers’ paradise with more than 300 bird species.

Access:- The Waterberg Mountain area is part of the Bushveld district of the Limpopo Province, a two and a half hour drive north from Johannesburg on the N1.

Child Policy:- Children are welcome at Bushveld Retreat and hydro and is the ideal holiday getaway for families.
